Revitalizing Iconic South High School

The restored South High School will serve as an anchor on the South Side of Youngstown, contributing to the vitality and growth of the community. This project combined with the proposed Valley Legends Sports Complex, will further enhance the cultural, educational, and sports opportunities in the city.

Project Objectives:

  • Build on the tradition of excellence linked to South High School and establish a motivating environment for education, workforce development, and community cultural events
  • Serve as an anchor for renewed development including housing rehab and new construction projects in the neighborhood
  • Provide adaptive re-use for an iconic building that is part of the shared history of generations of Youngstown's residents
